Did you watch the first video lesson of the free masterclass? Wasn’t it great? If you haven’t had the chance to watch it yet, you can still do so here.

So the first lesson was all about creating your own formulation philosophy: How do you define natural? What does natural mean to you? Why are you using a particular ingredient? Where does it come from and how does it fit in with your formulation philosophy?
The videos are really short, only around 10 minutes, so they’re quick to watch. But they’re also very informative and they give a lot of food for thought. I watched the episode this morning with my morning coffee and was thinking about it all day. What is my formulation philosophy? And how does it fit in with my soap making philosophy? Do I even have a soap making philosophy?
I printed out the workbook that goes with the Masterclass, and I’m glad I did. It’s turning out to be quite the journey, with thoughts and reflections that I wasn’t expecting to have. I haven’t quite finished filling out this first lesson’s work pages yet, but I’m figuring that some of the questions that I’m still having, I will find the answers to later this week. In the meantime, I look forward to tomorrow’s episode, which will be a more practical lesson: Your Formulation Equipment.
